Oil and gas unions representing workers at Shell operations in five continents took a stand against precarious work on 7 October, the World Day for Decent Work.

More than 200 workers at a windows and doors manufacturing company in Tbilisi, Georgia, have achieved justice after suffering violence and pressure from the employer and the police. 

In the night of 22 September, Tata Steel subsidiary Tayo Rolls workers and their families, including children, were brutally beaten up by the police while peacefully protesting against the company’s closure, demanding alternative employment or appropriate compensation.

Following an annual tripartite consultation process, the minimum wage for the Cambodian garment sector has been increased to US$170 for 2018. The new minimum wage will benefit the more than 600,000 garment workers in the industry.
