IndustriALL Global Union accepted the affiliation of nine new trade unions at the recent Executive Committee meeting held in the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo, in November. 

IndustriALL affiliate the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine (NGPU) reports that union members are placed under pressure and have their labour rights violated at mines owned by Evraz Sukha Balka in the Dnepropetrovsk region of Ukraine. Private security employed by the company regularly conducts searches of workers.

IndustriALL's affiliate, Industrial Federation of Ethiopian Textile, Leather and Garment Workers Trade Unions (IFETLGWU), is on a recruitment drive. Recently it increased its membership by 13,922 workers, of whom 9,802 were women.
