Bank of Labor
Originated by the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Bank of Labor puts union money back to work—for unions. It’s the nation’s only labor majority-owned and -operated bank. Banking services offered include business banking, business lending, treasury management services, fiduciary services, retirement services and union member banking. Bank of Labor maintains offices in Kansas City, Kansas, and Washington, D.C., and has services in all 50 states.
Boilermaker National Apprenticeship Program
The Boilermaker National Apprenticeship Program (BNAP) is a rigorous four-year, on-the-job training program designed out of over 100 years of history and experience—and utilizing the most advanced training techniques.
Boilermakers National Funds
The Boilermakers National Funds is an entity completely separate from the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, per ERISA. It’s primary goal is to improve the lives of Boilermakers National Funds participants and their families by providing a comprehensive portfolio of collectively bargained employee benefits.
Helmets to Hardhats
Helmets to Hardhats is a national, nonprofit program that connects National Guard, Reserve, retired and transitioning active-duty military service members with skilled training and quality career opportunities in the construction industry. The program is designed to help military service members successfully transition back into civilian life by offering them the means to secure a quality career in the construction industry.
International CCS Knowledge Centre
The International CCS Knowledge Centre, based in Regina, Saskatchewan, aims to advance the understanding and use of carbon capture as a means of managing greenhouse gas emissions. Their mission is to accelerate the deployment of carbon capture worldwide by allowing the learnings acquired at the Boundary Dam Power Plant (Saskatchewan) to be shared broadly and to allow further carbon capture research to be conducted.
The MOST Programs include 16 safety and training programs developed specifically for the Boilermaker trade. MOST stands for Mobilization, Optimization, Stabilization and Training and was designed to increase the skill levels of all Boilermakers while providing value to the owners and contractors who employ them. Since its inception, MOST programs have resulted in a 90% reduction in OSHA recordable injuries.
National Association of Construction Boilermaker Employers (NACBE)
The National Association of Construction Boilermaker Employers (NACBE) identifies key issues that impact the success and vitality of the construction industry. NACBE is a collaboration of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, employers and other industry organizations.
Union Plus is a nonprofit organization founded by the AFL-CIO to provide excellent consumer benefit programs exclusively to union members (current and retired) and their families. It’s free to sign up, and benefits include everything from special discounts (movie tickets, amusement parks, car rental, floral delivery and more) to financial services, education programs, insurance, hardship help and many other benefits.
Utility Workers Union of America
The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers has an official affiliation agreement with the UWUA. The UWUA represents over 50,000 members working in electric, gas, water, nuclear, call center, professional/technical, public sector and renewable energy industries.
Union Sportsmen’s Alliance
As a union-operated, union-dedicated 501(c)(3) conservation organization, the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance is committed to uniting millions of union sportsmen and sportswomen into one community with a shared commitment to educate future generations of sportsmen, conserve healthy wildlife habitat and volunteer their time and skills for projects that improve access to quality places to hunt, fish and shoot. Members of the Boilermakers Union and Utility Workers Union of America receive free membership in the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance.
Welding Boot Camp
Welding Boot Camp is a new addition. It is not an alternative to the Boilermaker National Apprenticeship Program’s four-year apprenticeship, but is designed to “polish” the skills of experienced tradesmen and women through a three-week intensive training program.
