Union Plus offers help for victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria

If you are a union member who participates in certain Union Plus programs and have been affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, you may be eligible for financial assistance through the Union Plus Disaster Relief Grant program. The Union Plus Disaster Relief Fund has provided nearly $1 million in assistance to union members facing hardships following Hurricanes Sandy and Katrina, floods, wildfires and other natural disasters.


Dec. 12 is deadline for Labor College scholarships

Members in the Building Trades could qualify for $795 grant for online courses

More than $13,500 in scholarships is available through the new Union Plus National Building Trades President’s Award. Boilermakers and other trades may apply for the program, which covers tuition for online courses through the National Labor College. Each $795 scholarship covers a 3-credit course for studies beginning with the Jan. 2012 semester.


Union Plus expands job loss grants

Furlough and strike assistance grants are also available

UNION PLUS HAS announced the expansion of job loss grants and the addition of two new hardship grants. The grants are available to qualifying members who hold a Union Plus credit card.

Previously, the $250 job loss grants were available to cardholders who applied for the benefit within six months of their last day on the job. Under the new policy, cardholders have up to 12 months after their job loss date to apply.

Cardholders must have been out of work for 90 days or longer to be eligible.
