Newly elected Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro appointed two Boilermakers to his Energy Transition Advisory Committee.
The two appointees, Local 154 BM-ST Mike Stanton and Local 13 BM-ST John Bland have met with the committee to help determine what’s good for both the energy industry and for the Commonwealth. Bland said the meetings have been positive and solution focused.
He said that Shapiro understands the need for balance when approaching solutions to climate change and that the new governor understands the need for a smart approach to fossil fuels.
“You’re never going to get rid of fossil fuels,” Bland said. “From the computers in your office to the clothes you wear, they all need fossil fuels.”
