Workers at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, Park Hyatt, and Hyatt Regency O’Hare announced a boycott of their hotels August 24. The UNITE HERE members at these hotels have been without a contract for over a year – since August 31, 2009. They are asking everyone who supports labor not to meet, eat, or sleep at these hotels until this dispute has been resolved.
These three Chicago-area Hyatts are joining the following eight hotels which are also under boycott:
- Grand Hyatt San Francisco
- Hyatt Fisherman’s Wharf (San Francisco)
- Hyatt Regency San Francisco
- Hyatt Harborside at Logan International Airport
- Hyatt Regency Boston
- Hyatt Regency Cambridge
- Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego
- Hyatt Regency Sacramento

The Hyatt hotel chain is also mentioned in UNITE HERE’s recently released film, Show Us the Tax Breaks.
