Carlos Brooks
Southeast Organizing Coordinator, M.O.R.E. Work Investment Fund

Carlos Brooks is an organizer with a strong background in union leadership and workforce advocacy. As a Southeast organizer for the M.O.R.E. Work Investment Fund, he is committed to helping employees organize unions, grow membership and strengthen worker representation across various industries.
Brooks began his career at Cemex in Clinchfield, Georgia, where he worked as an electrical instrumentation technician for eight years before serving as the union president of Local D23 for nine years. During his tenure, he achieved a 99-100% union membership rate in a right-to-work state and played a pivotal role in workforce development. Partnering with upper management at Cemex, he helped create and enhance training opportunities for technical jobs, enabling employees to earn an industrial systems degree at Central Georgia Technical College. He also served as the LEAP Committee member, safety chairman and training committee chairman, demonstrating his commitment to worker safety and professional growth.
In his current role, Brooks travels throughout the Southeast to assist employees in organizing unions and educate nonunion workers at established union locations, fostering membership growth. Recently, he organized a meeting with current and nonunion members that resulted in a 100% membership increase for that local. His goal is to empower workers through education, ensuring they understand the strength of collective action.
Brooks is passionate about ensuring union members receive the representation and support they deserve. He finds motivation in seeing workers benefit from training opportunities and achieve safer working conditions through strong union advocacy. His vision is to build lasting relationships and create a culture of information sharing that strengthens the workforce for generations to come.
