Boilermakers seek to maintain national record
THE UNION SPORTSMEN’S Alliance’s 8th Annual IBB Kansas City Sporting Clays Shoot will be held September 24, and the Boilermakers are hoping to again lead the pack in raising money and turning out participants.
As the title sponsor for the event in Kansas City, the Brotherhood is seeking support from all local lodges, individual members and International staff to demonstrate that the Boilermakers are unmatched in putting on the USA’s top fund-raising sporting clays shoot in the country.
“In 2015, our event shattered all records nationwide,” said Kyle Evenson, the IBB’s Executive Secretary for Construction Sector Operations, who helps lead the union’s involvement. “We hosted over 200 shooters and raised over $150,000 for programs like ‘Boots on the Ground,’ which brings union craftsmen together to volunteer their skills and time to help rebuild our national and state parks throughout the country and to help other government wildlife agencies.”
Evenson said the USA/IBB Kansas City Shoot also “offers a large group of Wounded Warriors an opportunity to enjoy a day of brotherhood, shooting and relaxing with union folks from the Kansas City area and beyond.”
There is still time to be a part of this great program, which will take place at Powder Creek Shooting Park, 8601 Monticello Road, Lenexa, KS 66227.
