Scott Vance brings experience from wild turkey group
THE UNION SPORTSMEN’S Alliance has appointed Scott Vance as its new executive director. He currently serves as the National Wild Turkey Federation vice president for hunting heritage and executive director for hunting heritage centers. In his nearly 17 years at NWTF, he piloted many successful endeavors, one of which was leading a multi-national, multi-disciplinary team of wildlife and conservation professionals to restore the Gould’s wild turkey to southern Arizona.
“Scott Vance has all the credentials to lead the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance, but it’s his genuine passion for the outdoors and conservation that set him apart as the clear choice,” said AFL-CIO President Richard L. Trumka, who serves as the USA’s chairman of the board. “He not only believes in our organizational values, but he lives them every day. I know that Scott has the vision and experience to propel the USA to new heights.”
Vance begins his new position on Sept. 1.
The Boilermakers union is a charter organization of the USA, which was founded in 2007. IBB International Secretary-Treasurer Bill Creeden serves on USA’s Board of Directors. Boilermakers support USA with an annual clays shoot. Last year, the annual event raised a record-breaking $150,000 for USA. The money helped to fund the USA’s ongoing efforts to enhance public access to the outdoors, conserve wildlife habitat and restore America’s parks.
Membership in the USA is free to all Boilermakers. To find out more about the USA or to join, visit http://unionsportsmen.org.
