DIRECTORS OF THE Canadian Building and Construction Trades Department, AFL-CIO, re-elected Boilermaker International Vice President for Western Canada Joe Maloney to a second three-year term as chairman of its executive board during a meeting last November. The board includes leaders from all 14 international construction unions in Canada.
“It is a great pleasure to be elected once again to this position,” Maloney said. “It is truly humbling to know that fellow construction industry trade unionists have the faith and support in me and the Boilermaker organization."
Maloney has been active in the BCTD since 1993, when he was hired as Assistant to the Executive Secretary in the Canadian office. In 1998, he became the BCTD Director of Canadian Affairs, and in 2000 he was elected BCTD Secretary-Treasurer. Maloney has served as International Vice President for Western Canada since Oct. 1, 2005.
