An avid sportsman, Hite was instrumental in rallying union leader support for the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance.

Franklin, TN —The Union Sportsmen’s Alliance (USA) recently reached another milestone, following its recent tenth anniversary, in presenting its first Lifetime Achievement Award to Chicago area resident William P. Hite, President Emeritus of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States, Canada (UA).

There is no one more deserving of the USA’s first Lifetime Achievement Award than Mr. Hite,” said Scott Vance, the USA’s CEO and executive director. “He was one of our organization’s founding fathers and continually pioneered and supported every facet of the USA's growth over the past decade. President Emeritus Hite spent his entire career improving the lives of UA members both on and off the job and he continues to be a committed and devoted sportsman and conservationist.”

Created by and dedicated to union members and their families, the USA engages, educates and organizes union members, their families and like-minded individuals who share a passion for hunting, fishing, shooting and the outdoors to help preserve North America's outdoor heritage.

The USA Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest and most prestigious award given to a member of the organization. It is reserved for individuals who have made tremendously significant contributions to the USA and the greater Labor community by serving as a leader in uniting union members for the greater good of conservation and the Labor movement as a whole. Selection for this honor recognizes an individual’s outstanding and sustained contributions throughout their career and signifies the highest level of impact on the life, growth and sustainability of the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance.
