Special tribute made to Chick Moran

MARIE MORAN recalls her late husband’s service to the International Brotherhood.

BOILERMAKERS HONORED A tradition at convention by asking delegates who are veterans to stand and also shared a moment of silence for deceased members.

In a special tribute, President Jones presented Marie Moran with a plaque honoring her late husband, Charles F. “Chick” Moran, who passed away in 2011, the year the 32nd Consolidated Convention was held.

Chick Moran served as an International Vice President and later as International Secretary-Treasurer over a span of 27 years, making him one of the longest-serving International officers in the union’s history.

“He lived and breathed for this Brotherhood,” said President Jones, who went on to thank Marie Moran and all spouses who “also make sacrifices” when officers, staff and members are frequently away from home doing their jobs and carrying out their work-related responsibilities.

Marie said of her husband, “Those of you who knew him knew him as a man of integrity and total dedication to the Boilermakers.”
