L-154 filming with Larry the Cable Guy airs May 29

“Only in America” episode premieres at 9:00 p.m. EDT on History Channel

LAST SEPTEMBER, Boilermakers working the Bruce Mansfield power plant outage near Pittsburgh got a heavy dose of fun when they worked side by side with one of America’s favorite comedians, Larry the Cable Guy.

That episode of “Only in America” will air May 29 on the History Channel at 9:00 p.m. EDT/8:00 p.m. CDT. The filming features Larry squeezing into an ash silo, performing a waterwall welding assignment, and doing other Boilermaker work.

L-154 BM Ray Ventrone coordinated the shoot with plant owner First Energy and outage contractor Enerfab.

The outage episode is part of a four-part show that also depicts Larry in other Pennsylvania settings, including a survivalist bunker, a Hershey plant, and a family homestead that uses human waste as fertilizer.
