Mike Hancock
Northeast Organizer and Recruiter, M.O.R.E. Work Investment Fund

Mike Hancock is a lifelong Boilermaker with a career spanning nearly three decades, dedicated to the craft and community of the Boilermakers. Since starting as a Boilermaker in 1994, he’s worked in coal-fired units, oil, gas, electric boilers, nuclear power plants and industrial construction sites across the United States. His extensive field experience has given him a deep understanding of the challenges and rewards of the trade.
Hancock’s commitment to the Brotherhood led him to leadership roles within Boilermakers Local 29. He was elected as a trustee in 2008 and later served as president of the local in 2014. While his run for other offices within the organization weren’t always successful, each campaign taught him valuable lessons about resilience and the importance of serving the membership.
For Hancock, being a Boilermaker is more than just a career—it’s a lifestyle. The long hours and hard work are balanced by the camaraderie, shared stories and pride in the trade. Whether reminiscing about the places he’s been, the jobs he’s worked, or the friendships forged along the way, Hancock embodies the spirit of the Boilermakers.
