Abdul Kohdamani
Western States Organizer, M.O.R.E. Work Investment Fund

Abdul Shakir Kohdamani serves as a Western States organizer with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers and is a member of Local 549 (Pittsburg, California). In this role, he works directly with workers to organize, build solidarity and challenge unfair workplace practices, with a focus on strengthening worker-led unions and empowering employees to secure dignity, respect and a meaningful voice on the job.
Prior to becoming an organizer, Kohdamani worked for three and a half years as a mechanical assembler at Siemens Mobility Inc. in Sacramento, California. During his time there, he received multiple management awards and recognition for consistently high-quality work without inspection write-ups. Alongside his production role, he was an active Boilermaker union supporter and participated in organizing efforts among Siemens workers.
Kohdamani graduated as a certified nursing assistant from SacMed Training LLC in April 2024. His healthcare training reinforces his commitment to compassion, advocacy and service — values that shape his approach to organizing and leadership. Having worked on the shop floor, he brings firsthand understanding of the challenges workers face and is motivated by helping workers build confidence, stand together and achieve fair treatment through solidarity.
He is committed to fairness, respect, accountability and continuous growth as an organizer and leader. Outside of work, he values time with family, staying active and remaining engaged in his community.
