Bryan Cato

Great Lakes Organizer – Marketing, Organizing, Recruitment, and Employment Work Investment Fund

Bryan Cato is a dedicated Boilermaker organizer for the Great Lakes Area. He’s been a member of Local 158 in Peoria, Illinois, and for 19 years he worked at Komatsu in Peoria. Throughout his career, Cato has served his local in multiple leadership roles, including union steward, bargaining unit committeeman and president of the local.

Cato has been directly involved in negotiating six collective bargaining agreements and has played key roles in four successful arbitrations. His experience also includes handling grievances, participating in pre-arbitration and grievance meetings, and working closely with labor relations to advocate for members and protect their rights.

Having spent his entire career in manufacturing—both union and nonunion shops—Cato understands firsthand the importance of strong union representation. As career welder, he is committed first and always to serving the membership and helping workers understand the protections and power that come with a union contract, while working to grow the union.

Outside of work, Cato enjoys fishing, four-wheeling, and spending time with his family.
