Andrew Gutierrez
Southeast Recruiter, M.O.R.E. Work Investment Fund

Before stepping into the role of Southeast recruiter, Andrew served as the lead instructor for the Lone Star District. In this position, he was both a SAJAC and BNAP Instructor, teaching at the George D. Rogers Training Center and leading Welding Boot Camps at the Hartsville Training Center and various home locals. When not instructing, Gutierrez worked in the field for signatory specialty welding companies, primarily in nuclear plants but also in refineries and gas and coal-fired power plants. Additionally, he is secretary-treasurer for his home lodge, Local 74.
Since taking on this role as Southeast recruiter, Gutierrez has focused on building relationships with high school and college welding instructors, attending career fairs and welding competitions and guiding potential candidates through the recruitment pipeline to membership. With a vision of strengthening the workforce, he’s committed to recruiting an abundance of qualified members to ensure signatory contractors have confidence in the Southeast Area's manpower supply. This effort aims to resolve the long-standing debate of what comes first—the work or the workforce.
Passionate about empowering others, Gutierrez believes a career with the Boilermakers can significantly enhance a person’s quality of life. Committed to education and skill development, he values BNAP and MOST training programs as essential components of a thriving membership. Outside of work, Gutierrez enjoys hunting, fishing, and volunteering at church with his wife.
