T&W Stamping president Jessy Vandygriff didn’t quite get it right when he addressed 25 T&W Boilermakers (Local 1622) in Youngstown, Ohio, who are picketing to protest illegal action by their employer:

❌ He says he can't take union dues out of our paychecks...

✅ How can dues come out of a check he's not going to write?

❌ He says we all must negotiate in good faith...

✅ That's exactly why we've filed unfair labor practice charges. T&W did NOT negotiate in good faith.

❌ He says it's illegal for us to strike...

✅ Um. Just no. As a union, we can take legal economic actions against a company any time after a collective bargaining agreement expires. The only question is whether this will be considered a protected or unprotected strike.

❌ He says he can't lock us out...

✅ Also not true. A company can legally lock workers out when they are working under an expired agreement.
